Banded Garden Spider II
Argiope trifasciata

These spiders get their name for the way their hold their eight legs in pairs to form an X shape. The X is called the St.ndrew's cross because it is believed that the saint was martyred on a cross of this shape rather than the conventional + shape. Besides their standard orb-web, Argiope spiders build additional white opaque zig zag lines on their webs, called stabilimentum. Sometimes the zig-zag lines match their leg positions, which lead some people to suggest that this helps give the appearance of longer legs. Some spiders build a single vertical line, yet others a patch of zig zags in the centre of the web. No matter the design, the spider sits right smack in the middle. The bite of this spider is considered harmless or at most to cause a weak local reaction. Few bites have been recorded.

Luc! A spider! A pretty spider too. Not my favourite insect at all. But it is attractive and looks good in his web. He's nice and sharp, actually it is a good photo, even if it is a spider :))))
Thank you MF

Superb shot of this spider Luc. Perfect composition, nice colors and sharpness. Similar spider Argiope bruennichii was in my country rare, in last 15 years it was spread and on some areas is common now.

I cant remember you posting a spider, is this Luc?
Great POV, perspective, and composition. Nice to se the web too. Light is not your best, but great considering how difficult is this kind of back lights. Regards, Felipe.
