Nice one Mike the eyes have it as they say they are so powerful.very different from the tiny 17cm scop that I had sat on my finger this week though the eyes had the same look about them. this has transfer to digital not too badly. If you have any questions about digitising an image ask Callie as till very recently this was the way he was posting images.

Mike, Interesting presentation/process. Haven't seen this used before here. Powerful eyes as Robert states that make this photo very note-worthy. Thanx for posting!!

We call it "Harfang des neiges" in french. I saw one once time.
Beautiful capture, Mike. White color is not easy to manage. Not bad for a photo of a photo. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Mike
Lucky you to have these in the "backyard" They are amongst the most beautiful of all owls. As to F being bigger than M, this IS NORMAL for most raptures.
If you copy, you can get a small lightbox, like 6 inches across with daylight corrected lightglobes. Place the slide on it and then shoot using tripod.
Very nice bird, however, the whites are a bit hot, maybe from the re-shooting.

Hello Mike

What a lovey image. The eye are very piercing. Thanks for sharing

White subjects are so difficult to do well.(I've been trying to capture white fungi in very dark places) A real challenge, but you've done a great job.Good result.

Welcome, Mike. You slipped under radar while I was away the weekend. It's a wonderfull creature you captured. It's very high on my wishlist. The POV is nice showing those lovely eyes. Nice one, well done.

The single expression of those eyes is worth the publication of this image.
Good capture Mike... never is easy the handling of the white tones as in this case, but you have solved it accurately.
Good presentation, good DOF and PP, more reading all the process to reach this final result.

Well done. Now you have to find an other Snowy Owl to shot him with your digital camera.
I Look at these eyes and it's almost hypnotic.

Beautiful looking bird and what fantastic eyes it has. Maybe overexposed on the whites but it still holds good detail. Nice one.
