Morning Walk
A cold day in February along the Bow River in Cochrane, Alberta
Camera was in my pocket to keep warm. I only brought it out when I saw something of interest. The trees and shrubs were wrapped in a thick frost. Like snow, the frost starts to fall from the trees when the sun gets higher in the sky. It's a pretty site to see as the frost sparkles in the sunshine.

Hi Janice, what a super winter scene. I love it, but I am so thankful that I don't live where we get snow!! What a super composition, beautiful white patterned trees and grasses. I am shivering looking at it. Yes, it is pretty and sparkly. TFS

Hi Janice
While I would love to be able to take some nice snow/ice/frost filled scenes such as this I am glad our winters here in Zululand do not closely approximate the temperatures you people experience in the Northern hemisphere. Brrrr, I am freezing just looking at this shot. We do not even know what frost is here in the land of sunshine, but we do know what sweat is though, the flip side of the coin.
I really like this shot. Nicely framed on either side by the trees up close and the shrubs/grass in the foreground while looking through the opening to reveal the water body and the trees in the background. This gives the shot an excellent sense of scale and perspective. The composition is nicely divided into the horizontal 1/3 axis' with the sky, the trees and the shrubs forming the clear divisions. The colour definition is great and the exposure was masterfully managed with no OE on any whites.
Very well done and TFS.

Hello Janice,
Though I like winter least of all seasons, I begin to miss it now when we have over 30C outside.
The picture has lovely cool mood and it is very beautiful too. Love the hoarfrost, the POV and framing and the blue hue of whole picture.
Great job and thanks for sharing it!

Hello Janice,
Wonderful winter scane.Looks like a painting.Use of light,details,
POV,colors and composition are excellent.

Hi Janice

Stunningly beautiful!! :-)

Well composed with the iced up foliage providing a natural frame for the pic. Good Detail, Sharpness and POV. TFS,

Janice, my favourite time of year and you have caught it very well.
I really like the icefrom the hoar frost on the trees, often it melts in the sunshine, so I guess it was either very very cold, or it had only just come out of the shade.

TFS and thanks for cooling me off.

Hullo, Janice!

Nicely composed and a good contrast between foreground and background. Congrats!

TFS. Best wishes.

Hello Janice,
Wonderful & beautiful winter landscape, I like it very much. Excelent point of view and magnific white tones.
Well done!!!

Hier c'était le début de l'été et je n'ai pas envie de voir la neige tomber.
Mais la photo est trčs belle.

Hi Janice,
Don't know why but I was tempted by this fine winter image!
This is the kind of scenery where you can see it is cold, the crispness of the nature is noticable..!
Beautiful colours of course, the view of the river is very well framed...

Very nice picture. Well exposed, good details and I love the way it's framed with the shrubs in the bottom and the tree in the right. Well done & TFS!

This is too pretty! I long to see snow again and this makes me miss it more. Such wonderful colours, a really crisp feel with no lost detail and gorgeous composition.
Ahh I having to have another look - so beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Jx

Hi Janice,

Brrr, this looks so cold, reminds me that winter is just around the corner. This is a beautifull picture. Great POV and DOF. The colors are really nice. TFS. Alain

Hello Janice
tonalities are very soft and are a lot interesting the way in which the brown contrast with white ice that has been formed on the froozen trees. Optimal game of lights and shadows with a soft color sky and beautiful details.
