Pictures taken in the Botanical Garden of Montreal, Quebec.
I took up to 150 photos of this young specimen that morning. I had noticed it by far, then I approached more and more him, quite slowly, up to 2 metres. Then, he put itself has to smooth feathers and has to take any sorts of acrobatic poses always while living on a single paw. I was fascinated by this animal which, when he do not go fishing or do not sleep, spends time putting itself beautiful and deserving be photographed...

Great shots Luc.
I like both. Good details, composition and details and
a great note like always.
Very good job.

BTW
I've tested the camera in daylight today and I must say it works very well.

Superbe photo, Luc.

Thats quite a balancing act Luc. Interesting bird, great capture and presentation. Good work.

Your patience in getting nearer slowly gave you a very beautiful result, Luc. It is incredible the bird shots you get with your "amateur" cam, I find it very difficult and I think needs a special mention. Very well done.
What about decreasing just a bit the yellow saturation? Maybe it would increase a bit contrast. Thanks for sharing.

Two great captures, I really like the photos of birds where they're undisturbed by the photographer's presence, and this one clearly was just that. Good sharpness, colours and light.

Good study Luc great details in every thing , only once have I seen a person that close to one and it was a young bird begging fish off a fisherman, the rest vanish if they see you half a mile away, much persicuted for their fish eating habits even though protected.

Superbe Luc!

Bravo!

Wauw Luc I like it,
Both are beautiful shots, extreme good shots, the colours are great, with a good balance, the dof is also very nice even as the note, great job

Luc, very very nice. Great shots with superb sharpness, detail and presentation. I find it quite fascinating how these birds always stand on one leg! TFS.

Deserving a photograph... You deserve more just to get within 2m of this is exceptional. Both the shots are equally nice. The feathers and textures catches my eye. Very sharp. Such a nice set! Well done.

Two beautiful pictures.Note as usual excellent.

Hi Luc
I see you caught Mr Vain - when we were in Kruger in September, one of our Grey Herons, this one's close cousin, nearly brother, was preening himself every day for the 7 days we visited the hide, and my wife called him Mr Vain. The pose is very good, and the light and exposure is well handled.
Points tomorrow - I just stay in debt!
