[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
one of my first photos with my new camera. A different view of "my" Lake. ( Erie) Lake Erie is quite amazing as it has an unusal habit. When the wind blows the water travels from one end of the lake to the other as the Lake even though Huge is shallow. My Husband has to deal with this alot with his ship for the drafts. On days where the wind blows from the east all the water dissappears from our side of the lake like you see here and it end up over in the Western Basin. When the wind blows from the west then we get it here! Now when that happens the water drops out of the Detroit River like crazy and sometimes ships actually have to anchor because they wouldn't have enough water underneath them to transit the Channel entering Lake Erie! Amazing thing nature! Anyway the photo...I thought all the rocks on the shore made an interesting photo. I took this awhile back and now wish I had saved the orignial as I feel I over sharpened it..but regardless it tells a good story I think..:o)

Hi Donna!
The muddy rocks do fill a larger part of your frame here, but I would still have preferred water in their place.
Your note, however, offers very useful information on the phenomenon of the water receding to and fro with the wind.

A beautiful rocky shoreline!
Why shall beaches always be sandy, this one has at least as much personality...
Low point of view works well, wise to include the vegetation in this fine composition!

Hi Donna,
Great work on the composition and the low POV. A pitty that the light was so harsh creating a huge difference between shadows and highlights. The idea of the three rock on the FG are perfect and gives the photo good depth. Did you do any PP work on the photo?
