Interesting icicle macro Jay, but it could use a bit of sharpening.

Bonjour,
Excellente idée. Ces bulles sont assez spectaculaires.
Bonne journée.

Hi Jay.
I wait an answer. Interesting "scientific" shot. Only I prefer to see icicle at whole (I mean its tip) and more strong vertical cropping. My best wishes and TFS.
Alexei.
Hi Jay,
This is a nice posting but I prefer yesterdays where your capture was back lite AKA back side. Congrats on your first 1000, and hope you continue to entertain and educate us for many more.

Hi Jay
an increasingly rare sight in my part of the world these days, so great to see. Nicely composed and a great record of nature's art that only exists all too briefly.
Thanks,
Paul

Hi Jay,
this is a photo of a subject that I have tried to capture but have yet to do justice to.You have caught the icicle with its bubbles very well.I hope soon not to see very more of these as winter seems to have dragged on to long this year for my liking,it is not all bad,it is I can't wait till spring and warmer weather.I will look at this when the summer comes rolling in and wish it were winter-go figure,eh!Thanks for sharing. Wow! Great idea Jay! Your macro is outstanding! Excellent details, well-chosen BG .
To answer your question with a guess: I'd say the flare is coming from the left.

Nice capture Jay. The air bubbles in the ice makes an interesting close up. But is not hanging straight? (LOL)
Cheers:)

Good macro shot.
Amazing how air gets trapped in the icicle, suspended as it is.
But I did love the irridescence of the sun's "flare" captured in the photo!!
