"Peace Man"
American Toad
Bufo Americanus

Lifespan/Longevity
In the wild most American toads probably don't survive more than a year or two; the majority die before transforming from tadpoles into toadlets. However, they are capable of living much longer. Some toads have lived longer than 10 years in the wild, and there is a documented account of a captive toad that lived to the ripe old age of 36 and was killed by mistake.
Behavior
American toads are mainly nocturnal, and are most active when the weather is warm and humid. They are solitary, congregating only at breeding ponds in the early summer and late spring. During the day American toads hide under rocks or logs or dig into dead leaves and soil. In regions with a cold winter, American toads dig deeper to hibernate. When digging they back in, pushing out dirt with their back legs.

I find toads most useful if you're ever staying in a hotel and the swimming pool is too crowded ;)

Hi Luc, this one has posed very well for you! I think he wants to be a model. Excellent composition and a very good POV. The details and note are great too. Well done.

"What is this with the three legs and long nose?" He wonders what you are doing at that time, Luc. It's a great shot. Impressive DOF. Is the shutterspeed correct 30s? I have never seen this species before Luc. TFS. Great shot!

Ouf! Quelle photo! La profondeur de champs impressionne beaucoup et ce regard! Beau spécimen. Pas certaine qu'il disait "peace man", il me semble un peu contrarié... par habitude! ;-)

This guy is really handsome and cute. Amazing DOF and focus. Superb photo Luc.

Very ugly but beautiful picture Luc.
Great sharpness, very good POV, exposure and colours.

Taking time out I think Luc. He looks tired. Maybe you chased him around too much to get this superb shot. Very well done
