... aka "Is the Earth Bent After All?" ...

Recently we have seen a change in the weather.
Instead of heavy winds coming off the ocean, we were seeing a wind blowing directly off the land

Whereas we had rough seas with raging waves only a few days ago today not a single whitecap was to be seen.

I wanted to share this shot because of the patterns that are created on the water, basically showing the AIR flow.
The wind hits the water and causes ripples much like what we see in eolean deposits < beaches , dunes >.
The whole scene gives a strange optical effect causing one to wonder how flat the "earth" is.

Enjoy...

PS The "clubhouse" is indeed out of kilter... Hurricane Juan helped in that process.

Hi Jay.
Likable nature phenomenon and great its reflection by the photo. I also like wonderful colours of your picture, selection of the POV (foreground and remote coast create a great esthetic effect and enrich the scenery) and DOF. My compliments and TFS.
Alexei.

Haha I like your title Jay! I think a bit more FG (taking the shot lower) might have helped in the composition here. Some detail has been lost in the sky as well; this is where a polarizing filter or grad filter would help.

Hi Jay
really like this wide vista with a good composition and point of view...the colours and texture of water are magnificent but unfortunately the sky is overexposed(really a ND grad filter or polariser are a must in this kind of photos)
best regrads

Hi Jay,

I like your composition. The point you are making is about the ocean and not the clubhouse or shore. The horizon is close to the 3rd and is horizontal in spite of the illusion created by the rest of the shore line.

Nice, pleasing shot, but a polarizing filter would have assisted with the glare. It would also have enhanced the blue sky ;)

Hello Jay,
Very well composed image!
The vast ocean attracts attention, and the little cabin seems like a nice place to observe from...
Tech wise well done, great colours and details!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Jay,
love that very clear view, the cool colours, and the breeze on the water. That's a pretty good picture. Thank you!
Best regards,
Peter

Nicely photoed!!
Interesting shot, especially with the ripples on the water as the wind skitters over the surface! The change in the color of the water is very noticeable!!
