The Joshua tree (Yucca brevifolia) is common in the southwest U.S.A. (Mojave desert) and in central and northern Mexico.
Family: Asparagaceae
Subfamily: Agavoideae
Genus: Yucca
Species: Yucca brevifolia
It can grow from seeds or rhizomes of other trees, being its qrowth appriximately 2 cm per year. The trunk is fibrous and lacks of concentric rings, so it's difficult to determine its age, althought is known that can live up to 200 years.

Beautiful presentation of this Joshua plant. I didn't know this species, but its name reminds me one of my favourite singer Joshua Kadison.
Good details and light as well as nice POV

Hello Pedro,
What a fine shot of this beautiful Joshua Tree. Even though you had some pretty harsh light to deal with you did very well on the exposure. Colors are well saturated yet natural and focus is sharp throughout entire frame.
I still vividly remember the first time I saw one of these unique looking trees out west. Rosie and I were driving through California and spotted some along the highway. We had no idea at the time what type of trees they were, so we finally asked some people at a rest stop:} TFS.
