Goodness, I think he's grinning! Did you tell him a joke, offer him a treat, or a mate? The POV is awesome as is the DOF. The photo is sharp and I'm stunned to see the color of his eye so clearly. His feet seem like it would be awkward for him to walk. Thanks for posting this - he's a beauty - and I still think he's smiling. :)

This Green Iguana sure has a personality, Luis!
Fantastic portrait of this massive reptile with perfect details and natural colours.
Very reminicent of the Jurassic Age as we saw in the Richard Attenborough's films a decade or so ago.
Thanks for sharing this brilliant capture.
Regards.
Ram

Hi Luis, my dear friend:)

Firstly Good Morning! Your dedication is great surprise for me. Realy I was thrilled when I saw this fine gift to me!
Thank you very much for your kind dedication my friend and also thanks for this perfect portrait capture of this beautiful-eyed, Green Iguana which has a row of spines along their backs and along their tails, also the neck sack (or dewlap) which helps to protect them from predators. I love the eyes of these lizards, enabling them to detect shapes and motions at long distances. They have an excellent vision!
Many thanks for sharing this beauty and indebted to you for this pleasant dedication for me!
Of course, I'm taking this in to my favorites:)!
With my best wishes & regards,

Bayram

Hi Luis

Yes, this is a very fitting dedication to our friend Bayram and it is great to see his surprise and appreciation of this gesture.

The iguana was immaculately captured with amazing details showing. Every little scale is visible and especially those in the facial region is pin sharp. It is a spectacular specimen with those extra long spines on its back, even a couple on the nose. The DOF was well selected making sure that the subject is well within the range of the in-focus area. This ensured the lovely gradual fading of the floor area into a well OOF area that served as BG to the iguana. The combination of the aperture, shutter speed, ISO settings, and exposure compensation also ensured spot-on lighting control which brought about great illumination on the lizard.

Well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot

A creature of very unusual appearance. If it were to board an airplane I wonder if ti would be on a no-fly list:-) It's carry on luggage is stored under it's mouth...Does it keep food there for later use? Or is it decorative? Very nice, sharp and well said so I can go find my answers...Good show Luis.

Hi Luis
Indeed a different post from your bird posts and you do this one in your very classic style. If your bird posts are one of the most elegant ones in TN, this one is magnificence personified.
What an image and a fitting dedication for our mutual friend Bayram....he deserves it in every way for this zoologist's contribution to TN has been outstanding.
The details of the texture on the body of your subject is amazing..the pose is quite intereting and that bag that hangs in front is a total show stealer.I have never come across one of this kind in my real life. And hence, my admiration for this capture is a lot.I cant take my eye off the texture of its skin, much like a loose bit of leather hseet spread over...i can see the way it wrinkles in palces. The environmnet in which it has been cpatured compliments the colours of the iguana itself. The open mouth and the eye does reveal some amount of action ...very well done.
TFS & Cheers

Hallo Luis
This is a genuine great capture of this lizard and a great close-up. I do not have much knowledge about reptiles like snakes, lizards and iguana's and because of that I prefer not to give my comments on these kinds of postings. I can however not let this beauty pass without me adding my little comment for what it is worth. A well composed image with good and clear details. I especially find the eyes very eye-catching in this image, and the texture of the skin is very captivating. A splendid portrait indeed. It actually looks like a character from a scary movie. Trek Nature is indeed a very motivating and most educational site. Not a day will pass that I don't see or learn something new. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day.
Kind regards.
