Hanging on Till the End
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Yesterday was a cool spring day in Northern Illinois with a lot of bright sun shine. I took a walk through a local forest preserve hoping to find migratory ducks stopping by on the way North to their breeding ground. As it tuned out, you find things that you did not expect. Nature photography forces me to look for unusual shapes and colors. As I was rounding a bend on the trail this clump of berries caught my eye. They were the only bright colored object I had seen on my walk and at that moment, the sun was shinning right through them. I hurried to get a shot of the berries and the sun and was rewarded with this picture. I like the shape of the vine and stems holding the clump of fruit. |
I have no idea what plant this is, but my guess is the berries will be gone soon to make room for more this summer.
Enjoy - Bob

A photo with some interesting color.
Have a nice day.
Love the colours, the background complements the berries just right. Nicely composed and good focus on the berries. TFS. Regards Bill
Bob, A simple and effective composition. The colors are good. I'm not sure what ur preference was with respect to focus when you shot this! I would have preferred to focus the fruit nearest to the camera and would allow DOF to do the rest!
Anyway i liked the picture for color balance and super composition
A beautiful composition - grea colors and wonderful use of space.
Thanks for the note you sent. I'm still alive - just been busy. I need to make time for TN though. :)
Bob, I disagree with the previous comment about the focus element. It's great as is. Although the highlights are washed out on the bright red berries, it does not detract from the beautiful colors and composition you have captured here. Red is the hardest color to hold for highlights and shadows. Good Job!!!
