[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Chocolate Pansy or Chocolate Soldier, Junonia iphita, is a butterfly found in Asia.
It is about 5-6 cm in wingspan and the female can be told apart from the male by white markings on the oblique line on the underside of the hind wing. The wavy lines on the underside of the wings vary from wet to dry season forms.
Individuals maintain a territory and are usually found close to the ground level and often bask in the sun.
The eggs are often laid on the ground or on dry twigs near the host plants rather than on them. On hatching the larvae find their way to the host plants.

BonjourGreg
excellent Prise de vue! Grande composition et belles couleurs, bon contraste entre les verts/bruns. Merci pour le partage .
bravo et au revoir...JP

This is the neatest specimen of a Chocolate Pansy I have ever seen, Greg.
I had the opportunity of shooting this butterfly a couple of times, but in both cases, the subjects were decrepit and old.
You have shot this one with perfect focus on the entire subject. The colors are totally natural and the details on the butterfly's open wings exquisite.
Well done and TFS.

Love the subtle mocha colors.
Very sharp details and lovely lighting.

Hi Greg,

Beautiful photography, excellent approach is out of the common as the level of sharpness of the foliage and the insects in the same set. You have achieved much impact on the picture with this. The colors are excellent and very natural. Congratulations, it's a very accomplished and very well balanced work.

Regards,

Jesús
