There is a slender body of water, which stretches along Route 2A, on the way to Norwich from Ledyard, Connecticut. It is called Hallville Pond. I donít think itís more than about 200 feet wide, and one mile or so long. My wife and I went for a drive last Saturday to see if we could find some pretty fall foliage. We would have gone right past Hallville Pond, had it not been for the colorful reflections that we saw from our car, in the very still water beside the road. We parked as soon as possible at the north end of the pond. The lighting could have been a little better, but it still looked quite attractive. Initially, I took a shot of the trees on the right bank of the pond, since they appeared to be closer to peak colors than those on the left. Then, I noticed the wonderful reflections of the trees on both of the banks, seemingly all of the way down the length of the pond. I took a few photos, and I have selected one of them for my posting today.

Hi John,
This scenery is really agreeable to look at. Fall can be so beautiful and this is an excellent representation of its splendor! As you said, reflection in the water creates a superb effect. Well seen!

Hi John
I love the reflection of the trees and sky in the water too. The fall colours are just beautiful. I really like your blue sky, it adds so much more colour. The trees where you live are much larger and thicker and I like how they come right down to the water. A very pretty landscape.

This is really a superb water-scape in which the natural sunlight makes the reflections shine even better. How wonderful it looks and you must have been thrilled when you stopped your car John.
The stillness of the pond is like glass. Very good composition, lighting and colours - well done

Hi John,
You guys are so lucky to have this burst of fall colors compared to us Europeans.
Normally a centered composition is a bit too static, but you managed to pull it of by creating many different diagonal lines. I like the almost mirror like refelection and the clarity of the air. Maybe boosting the contrast a little will help to make the photo stand out even more.
