[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today's post is not directly unusual bird as I prefer to post. It is little white dove from Central Park. When I bought my new camera house in NY I decided to take a walk in Central Park looking for some birds to photograph. I am going to use my camera to photograph animals with focus on the birds and I was glad to found some birds in the NY concrete jungle...
This is not so much Photoshop here. It looks much better in bigger resolution then this one but that's life. I decided to keep fall atmosphere here and cropping surrounding for better impact.

Captured @ 400mm, handhold ISO-800 natural light.

Pigeons and doves constitute the family Columbidae within the order Columbiformes, which include some 300 species of near passerine birds. In general parlance the terms "dove" and "pigeon" are used somewhat interchangeably. In ornithological practice, there is a tendency for "dove" to be used for smaller species and "pigeon" for larger ones, but this is in no way consistently applied, and historically the common names for these birds involve a great deal of variation between the term "dove" and "pigeon." This family occurs worldwide, but the greatest variety is in the Indomalaya and Australasia ecozones. The young doves and pigeons are called "squabs."

Pigeons and doves are stout-bodied birds with short necks and short slender bills with a fleshy cere. The species commonly referred to just as the "pigeon" is the feral Rock Pigeon, common in many cities.

Their usually flimsy nests are made of sticks, and the two white eggs are incubated by both sexes. Doves feed on seeds, fruit and plants. Unlike most other birds (but see flamingo), the doves and pigeons produce "crop milk," which is secreted by a sloughing of fluid-filled cells from the lining of the crop. Both sexes produce this highly nutritious substance to feed to the young...

Hi Ralf,
The colours and bokeh are so beautiful!
I like the composition made and the colours palette found into the framing.
The dove's pose reflects the weather there.
Congratulations for the new camera and the picture!
My best regards,
JM

Hej Ralf,
The colours and composition of this shot are superb: the plain white dove with an explosion of colour in the BG and the birch trunk is well placed in the composition. The image is very sharp where it needs to be and I understand that with the 21 megapix the knowledge that this is also sharp in a much bigger resolution is rather lost on TN.
That's life but does not detract from what a fine camera you now have.

Ivan

Hi Ralf, I am so glad to have discovered your gallery and this phot. It is absolutely fantastic, I love the bright orange background that looks like sunshine behind the bird. The white dove is the only white spot on the photo, it is superb. I love the branch crossing with the work of time on its bark. It is technically perfect, so much that we forget about it. Beautiful, beautiful photo, thank you.

Hi Ralf,
Beautiful shot of this dove with the fall colors BG and warm tree colors.Very nice composition and good focus details.

Hello Ralf,
Splendid coloured photo. The white dove against the orange/red colours in the BG make the scene. The sharpness on the dove and branch is excellent. Perfect composition.

Peter

Hi Ralf, this is a lovely and unusual shot of this pretty Dove surrounded in autumnal colour in Central Park NY. The Dove has a lovely head on pose with good catchlight in the bright eyes and perfect exposure on the whites. Nice dark natural tones on the tree. Wonderful light and great composition.
