[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Early morning shot of a brown pelican. He was very obliging and allowed me to come within 15 feet although that was about the limit. The early morning beach is deserted at this particular spot.

Those feathers are really nice and sharp, Greg.
I like the pose of the pelican, and the foamy backdrop of the waves.
Maybe if he were positioned more to the right, it would give him more space to look out into.
TFS. : )

Hi Greg,
very good capture of this pelican as the detail in it really shows this bird off well.Have you seen the small picture by qiqiqi here on TN.I like pelicans and hope to get some pictures of them as well,In the meantime I'm happy to see this and others here on TN.Tfs. Bob

Hi Greg

This is a well done shot. I like the plumage details in the wings and the waves behind. :-)

Hi Greg.
Very impressive picture. Wild pelican is amazing. Nice DOF and very hard angle to get this all in. Well done. tfs. Stev

Hello Greg,
Your feathered friend seems wet so I guess he's had some close contact with the surf..!
Good posture and fine details are captured...
Pleasant composition!
Greetings,

Hi Greg,

A wonderful pelican and a beautiful picture. The colors are marvelous, the details show off his plummage so well, and the setting is magnificent.

I have this same camera and in certain situations it really does a nice job.. as here. This is so sharp and the color looks very natural. I love the action of the surf. Do find there is a lot of noise when the light is less than optimum for that camera?
