Good Morning Hawk

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I climbed on my exercise bike and began to pedal, then I noticed him. Sitting high in my favorite old oak tree that did not return to life this year was a hawk. I got off my bike and went for the camera. I always wanted a shot of one of these. Now I got em. Hope you enjoy.

update 2-16-09: The great ice storm of 2009 finally dropped my favorite old oak tree. It no longer graces my view. It is no longer there for the birds and myself to enjoy. However I will get a little more enjoyment from it as my woodstove consumes what it left.

Hello Dave,
So glad you are around a bit more often Dave. This image is a great hawk image, sharp, well exposed and that catchlight is a real bonus. That eye is incredible, thanks Dave.

I like the light on the hawk's face, it is shining and beautiful, giving a nice depth to the bird. The naked branches against the blue sky are a perfect showroom for the hawk. Great shot, David, I like it,
Francine
Hallo Dave
Although this is an old image, I only see it now and do want to leave my penny of thoughts on it. This is a lovely image of this hawk sitting high up in the tree and it is sad to know that the tree no longer exsists, but in your heart you will always cherish the times that you have passed by it and also of the photographic oppertunities it gave you. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
Anna
Dave, this is beautiful. I like that the hawk is not centered and he looks so fluffy on his breast, makes me want to reach out and touch him. Nancy
