[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This American Alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) is actually not swallowing something big, but is rumbling, that is making deep bellowing, rolling sounds to establish and defend a territory. I was lucky to get them all displaying together on an early, foggy morning at the famous Anhinga Trail in the Everglades. I wished I could have shot from ground level but did not want to climb into the water (call me a coward).

Hi claus,

what a beautiful creature. Up close and seemingly hiding something in the mouth. Liked the caption.

Oh my God!

Spectacular shot!
