This is a little sneak preview of things to come when autumn arrives for all of us sweltering in the Northern Hemisphere summer heat...it was taken at a lake in North Georgia at my parents' mountain house. This is only one hour north of Atlanta, my hometown that has 4 million people. These mountains are the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and are abundant with wildlife. Deer are protected here and in fact are a real nuisance since they eat everyone's garden. My parents have taken to planting rosemary and marigolds for decoration since deer won't eat them! Last weekend they saw a mother black bear with two cubs pouring birdseed straight into her mouth from the feeder. We have also seen raccoon, opossums, red hawks, eagles, wild turkeys, snakes, coyote and an assortment of other animals. It feels like a world away!

Hello Alli!
WONDERFUL landscape.Colors, reflection on water,POV,DOF and composition are perfect.thanks for sharing.

Hello Alli, Great WA view with excellent autumn colors. Really like this POV of the lake, trees and foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains. It sounds like a great place to photograph the local wildlife. Well done!

Great Shot Alli,
Could this be Lake Lanier? I used to live in Norcross GA,and only been to Lake Lanier once! It really looked like this! (or a lobster when you see a map of it!)
Great focus.
Thanks for sharing,

What beautiful fall colors, Alli. I've always wanted to travel east in autumn to see scenes like this in person. The color change is not as dramatic here in CA. It looks like a stunning place.. and you captured it beautifully. Very nicely done :-)

Hi Alli,

This is a stunning landscape. It just embodies tranquillity, doesn't it? I like the composition, it works for me.

Well done

What colors, what sharpness! I did not know that Georgia is so beautiful! I need to explore it!

This is a very beautiful scene, lovely colours, and they are sure to improve, you're going to have some good opportunities soon! Improvements? I think a filter might improve the contrast and improve the blue sky, but there's nothing technically wrong with the photo. Very good work.
I look forward to your 100th post!
