[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Great White Egret was almost hunted to extinction during the 19th century. It's diet is mostly fish, but as we can see here, it also feeds on tiny, unfortunate lizards.
Egret hatchlings are vicious and kill the smaller birds in the nest. One is rumored to have lived for 22 years in Ohio.

Lighting was all right. I tried for a better comp. Luckily, I did not need a crop or heavy zoom.

Hello Chris,
A great closeup image of this colorful Great Egret in breeding plumage. I love the bright green colors around the eye area. Fortunate to capture it with it's dinner still hanging from it bill. Well done!!

Hello Chris

I will do this critique the continuation
of the critique on the alligators photo,
I was writing you me personally I love
much more to see the entire body of the
bird or animal, here I would shot with
more wide angle to have the entire body
and the habitat of the Great White Egret,
but probably with the closer shot on its head
you wanted to show the little fish he has catch
and the expressive glance of the bird on his catch, TFS
