|Back in the area where the orb weaver spider had taken the cicada, I found instead of the web, a number of strands leading diagonally from a tall pine tree down to a bush taller than head high. Looking closely at the bush, I saw a leaf that had been stitched together, and inside the leaf, the spider.|
It's hard to see how the spider could manage to get a strand of web connected between the tree and the bush. And hard also to see how a big spiral web could be hung from it.
Wikipedia says that the spider floats a line on the wind to the other surface. And then drops a line to form a "Y".
I'll have to keep an eye out when I'm in the area.
Hope you enjoy,

It makes me wonder....what it actually sleep to a spider? Does it dream? No brains might be an opt out but I have these never ending questions which come up due to photos.
An intriguing way to go about the bend on your spider series...I am enjoying the paths you do take,'Bob

Interesting bit of information. Looks like there may be two spiders in the leaf? Orb-weavers lay their eggs in leaves. Well done.
Pretty cool! I'm with Bob - does a spider dream? I think they have thoughts and feelings. Why not!
Great colors here and lovely composition with the curves.
