When I spotted this at the base of an old stump there was a critter that moved so fast I did not get the chance to see what it was. But no doubt it nestled quite comfy under this fascinating Fungi/Mushroom. Not sure what to call it but it is hard on the top and the underside is like a creamy white as you can see the bit of white at the bottom. Did not want to get too close for fear that That creature would come out and defend its home. Enjoy... Anyone want to enlighten me on what this is?

Hello Dawn,
Due to the ammount of deterioration of this particular fungi it would be almost impossible to correctly identify. My guess would be a type of Polypore or Shelflike Mushroom. Nicely shown!!
