Potomac in Winter #1
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
In winter the Potomac carries huge amounts of water, snow and ice as it crashes through the rocks at Great Falls, Maryland. The B&W seems to bring out the frigid conditions and the power of the river better than color does. |

Hello Alan,
Another impressive B&W shot of the fast moving Potomac in flood stage. This particular POV displays two channels for our eyes to explore as the water races by. Nice contrast between light and shadow areas of the image. I also like the overall composition. Your second image seemed a bit too abstract and a little hard for me to keep focused on (my eyes are getting old:) I like this one much better!
