[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
These little guys have been a common site this spring. I assume they are common every spring, but this is my first spring in this area. They form large silken structures in the trees which resemble a globular spider's web. I had heard that these "webs" were in fact made by caterpillars, but a few weeks ago I got a close look for myself. Outside my window, one of the webs came to incredible twitching life, hundreds of the caterpillars inside were waking up and moving around. I found this one investigating my car's windshield.
