Various foliage from the forest at Charles Towne Landing.

Charles Towne Landing was the site of the first permanent European settlement in the Carolina province. Approximately 148 colonists, including men, women and children, landed at Albemarle Point the first Wednesday in April 1670 and established what would become the birthplace of the Carolinas colony, the plantation system of the American South, and one of the continentís first major port cities.

Hi Karl.
I love it. The different shapes and shades of green.
And the different plants. It really speaks to the diversity of life.
It's also nice to see a fellow South Carolinian on TN. You might add to your note that Charleston was the place where hostilities began in the Civil War when the confederates fired on Fort Sumter.
