Brown pelican family
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|I captured these Brown pelican family out of a boat on the small island which is named as Little Bird Key. The small island is a mangrove island located in Boca Ciega Bay within the city limits of St. Petersburg, Florida.|
Little Bird Key is one of several islands which comprise the Pinellas National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge and Bird Sanctuary was established in 1951. Public entry to all islands in the refuge is prohibited because of their small size and critical importance to coastal bird species. "No entry" signs are posted. The island serves as a rookery year-round, and is best observed from small-draft vessels with non-combustible engines, considering the surrounding grass flats.
The Pinellas National Wildlife Refuge includes Tarpon, Indian, Little Bird, Mule, Jackass, and Listen keys, and Whale Island.
You will find some more information's about the Pinellas National Wildlife Refuge at the following link.

Excellent shot!Great sharpness and colour,
good lighting and well composed.
Agréable restitution d'une belle scène de la vie sauvage malgré un éclairage insuffisamment maitrisé.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
Well captured this Brown Pelican family. They look happy, except left one. He/she looks little bit grumpy (smile)! Don't know why! Natural colour and good sharpness.
Thanks for sharing with informative NOTE,
Regards and have a nice WE,
Ciao Sasha, great capture of fantastic family, wonderful colors, fine details and splendid sharpness, very well done, my friend, have a good Sunday, ciao Silvio
