First of all my thanks are going to everyone who did take a view at my previous upload yesterday and to those who did put there very kind words in a comment/critique. Much appreciated.

Today another classic from Brooks Falls. I know there are many shots, by many photographers, taken at that same place, but I went there 4 years ago because I wanted to make atleast one shot that gould compare whit those of the pros who went there before I did.
My trip to Katmai National Park was the first time I did photograph wildlife.
Wanted such for years already, but I just did'nt have the money to make an expensive trip like that.

There's a platform build for photographers just beside and a little above the falls. It's there so people don't disturb the bears while they are fishing and maybe even more so the bears can't disturb, although they are very relaxed and one does come across 50 to 60 bears a day wich are just taken a look at those crazy girls and guys with there camera's, the photographers while takeing shots :)

Thanks for viewing and comments/critiques.

Warm regards, Harry

Hi Harry

Stunning shot. I would love to see something like this with my own eyes. I have only seen a grizzly once and that was when it was moving very fast in the opposite direction. It must be amazing to be able to watch them fish. Stunning sharpness and excellent framing in this shot

Hi Harry
Another great shot, but I prefer the first one, mainly because both the eyes of the bear and of the salmon were full of life (well the salmon's ones only for a few more moments).

Hi Harry,
Excellent capture! It's good enough to make the pros pause and appreciate the perfection of this wonderous capture. Your notes are very encouraging, I'm very tempted to fly or drive up to Katmai and do some camera work, your notes are very encouraging. I also want to add that when I was 12 years old I first observed a similiar capture in a wildlife magazine that was used for a clean conservation campaign. I like yours just as much. Did you observe any cubs while you were there? :)

Hi Harry,
Excellent action and composition. Focus and colours very nice. TFS
well done

Hallo harry,

Een mooie opname, zeer goed belicht,je moet er aardig dichtbij geweest zijn met een 200 mm lens, maar ik denk dat het vooral een spektakel moet zijn geweest om dit live te mogen aanschouwen, groetjes,
Paul

Hi Harry,

This is a shot of a lifetime! Just marvelous. Not only did you get the bear going over the falls, but he has a big fish in his mouth. Wonderful colors and details - the falls are amazing - I can almost feel the splash.

Wooooow! Harry, we haven't often seen real bears in the wild on TN. And this is the classic pose we see in movies and photos. Well captured - this looks so good - great action shot. He looks a big brute too.

Hi Harry,
So now I'm the one who is jealous!! I like this better than embrace because the angle of the falls creates a real sense of the precariousness of the bear's position. The other thing that I note is how small that fish looks in that bear's mouth. Knowing the usual size of the salmon running up those rivers, I conclude that this was on BIG bear!!

In addition to the stunning framing, the details, light and color are all perfect

Very cool. The classic discovery channel bear shot fishing for Salmon. I hope I get a shot like this one day. The composition is great and the colors on the bear awesome as well. You captured the moment perfect and being able to see the bears teeth is very cool as well. TFS.

Witaj Harry!!!
Przepiękne pełne ekspresji i dramatyzmu zdjęcie.
Mistrzostwo!!!

Hi Harry,

A brilliant action photo, and I have added your work to my group "animals feeding". Thanks for sharing.
The sharp details are making this image into a breathless adventure.
