[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Dermasterias imbricata - This sea star feels smooth and slimy and smells like garlic. It is a medium sized sea star up to a foot in diameter but has relatively short arms (R/r = 2.4 to 2.9)*. It is usually mottled with reddish brown to orange blotches outlined with grey. It is usually found in the sub tidal area on rocks. It feeds primarily on sea cucumbers.

Photo taken at MacKerricher State Park's tidepools.

This is another beauty of an ocean to your gallery! i really like sea creatures and i'm very curious about these sea stars and oceanic crabs which their eyes interesting to me! Unfortunately these crabs don't live Turkey's coasts, but i hope to see a sea star soon. i like the colours and the shapes of the star. Garlic smell, it's interesting too!
