[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I am not sure how this is going to look once it's uploaded. I took a lot of pictures of this heron, and this is not the best of the bunch, but I so enjoyed looking at the wingspan and just how beautiful they look in flight, that I thought I would share this on TN. It looks alright on my computer, but I have a feeling that once uploaded I will lose color saturation (even after I converted to sRGB profile). I did sharpen a bit - I hope not too much. Tomorrow I will post another pose that is much sharper.
Until then - thanks for looking!

Range and Habitat:
Breeds locally from coastal Alaska, south-central Canada, and Nova Scotia south to Mexico and West Indies. Spends winters as far north as southern Alaska, central U.S., and southern New England. Preferred habitats include lakes, ponds, rivers, and marshes.

Hi Penny. This is a good inflight shot of the Heron.good detail and very natural colours. a nice POV/DOF. well done TFS.
nick..

hello Penny

superb inflight shot, the pov is excellent and the framing too,
i love that you let a very good space in front of the heron,
there is a good sharpness in the image,

to froze better the bird's movement in the photo,
maybe you should shoot at ISO400, the aperture
be at 4.9 or 5.6 to let pass more light
and the shutter speed be more faster,
i am not an expert to that kind of photos
but it is what i would, TFS

Hi Penny, the colours are superb, I like it natural and bright like this. The flight of the heron is so gracious, you captured a very nice moment and I understand very well your passion for its beauty, well shown here. Thank you!
