Forest Fire Sunset
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This image was taken in the evening about sunset just south of Stanley, Idaho in the Saw Tooth Range. There were several massive forest fires burning 50 miles or so to the SW. The smoke was so heavy to exclude the visualization of the Saw Tooth Mountains in this photograph. Ash was falling and for respiratory compromised individuals, this was not the place to be!
I do not know what the "glare" at the top of the sun is. The smoke was so thick, that there was no danger of aiming the lens directly at the sun. |
