Leaves have changed color here suddenly, one day we're hiking in greenery, and it seems the very next week we're crushing leaves underfoot. I wanted to capture a fall shot of this lovely waterfall, Wahclella Falls, on Tanner Creek near where I live.
Wahclella Falls is one of the more spectacular waterfalls in the gorge-a 350-foot two-tiered plunge with the final 60-foot section providing a powerful horsetail fall into an enormous splash pool.
Wahclella Falls was named after a nearby village of Native Americans by the Mazama mountaineering club in 1915. Although Wahclella Falls is its officially recognized name, the United States Geological Survey still records the waterfall as Tanner Creek Falls. |

magic place, TFS Ori
Hi Lori. Beautiful framing of this late fall of the stream. The slow shutter adds brilliance against the details of the fall colors. I like the tall frame presentation with a small fall on top of the frame. Well done and best regards. Jusni
Hi Lori
I was just in that area Sunday morning. I almost hiked in to Wahclella Falls but with the rain on and off I just stopped by some of the closer ones. I did post a shot of Wahkeena Falls. The colors were great in the Gorge. You did a nice job on capturing this beautiful place.
TFS,Best regards
Tom
