|Malia found this grasshopper at the top of the Larch Mountain viewpoint on the concrete platform. She was so excited when it didn't hop away, "Mom you've got to take a picture! You don't have any insect photos yet!" Her reaction was so cute I couldn't resist taking this photo, even though the Grasshopper isn't in a natural environment, I kind of like the way the rocks camoflauged him, maybe that's why he sat so still.|

Hi Lori, great details and sharpness in this pic.
It is not easy to get a good shot at this dark and well camouflage insect. You did well. Sharp and clearly seen image. Well done and TFS.

Great details on that hopper, Lori. You did very well. It looks almost as good as people shooting dedicated macro lenses. Too bad about the concrete, but sometimes we have to photograph 'em like we find 'em!
