Today I revisited the Tom McCall Nature Preserve hoping the Balsamroot was out, the small flowers are still green and just starting to peek their heads out of the foliage, although along the freeway there are some clusters already in bloom. The Grass Widows however were still out and the Yellow Bells were blooming everywhere.
I hiked to the top of Tom McCall point, a steep muddy trail, although on the way up it was till frozen most of the way, and I found this nice little Grass Widow, just starting to thaw out from the morning frost.
For more about Grass Widows, see my previous post just 3 posts ago. |
