[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took a photo of this flower in August when it was bright yellow. Now it's September and it has changed to a orange color. Several people didn't like my other photo with the blurry mountain background, so I used my landscape mode for this photo to make the mountain clear also. I had to lay on the ground to get this POV low enough to include the mountain in the shot.

Shasta or Sulphur Buckwheat: Eriogonum umbellatum polyanthum

The botany heiarchy of the alpine sulphur-flower buckwheat is classified within group Dicot of the Polygonaceae family. The growth habit of the alpine sulphur-flower buckwheat is found growing as a Subshrub , Shrub, herb. This plant is considered Native to the United States of America. The alpine sulphur-flower buckwheat is a Perennial plant which means it lives or continues more than two years, whether it retains its leaves in winter or not.

Hi Lori,

Excellent shot and well composed.
I'm not sure of the Fstop used, maybe a F11-14 would have helped in the foreground.
If your camera can do it, focus 3/4 of the way and hold the focus with shutter halfway and recomposing and cont. with the shutter to get the shot.
I always do this in my landscape shots. Plus I use F11-14 depending on the situation, which gives clean focus from near to far which is ideal for landscape photography.
