I took this photo on Mount Hood, near the White River. This area is covered with this volcanic rock and sand, yet this little pine tree is thriving even in these harsh conditions.
I've posted previously a photo of the White River area on Trekearth, so you can see what the whole area looks like.
My girls are up there today snowboarding with their Aunt Julie, hope they're having fun!

this time of year it shows so well that life thrives, every where nature is coming alife.
