[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this image of a Swallowtail on Mt. Hood along the McNeil Point Loop Trail on the week of August 15th. The ideal week that the wildflowers are in full bloom in all the miles of meadows that Mt. Hood has on and above the Round The Mountain Trail. Carry a lot of film or a lot of memory for your camera as there are more fantastic images than one can take in a week.
I used a Tamron 70-210mm F 3.5 Tele for this shot.

Nice shot of this Papilionidae!
Peaty we can't see all the butterfly.
Nice colours!

Hi Steven
Good shot but another position for this shot would be better.
But you did it well.

Beautiful colour combination of this butterfly and the flowers. I don't mind the position of the b-fly. It looks busy doing its thing, surrounded by its favourite flowers. Good natural shot.

Regards, Petru

When I first opened this I wasn't too sure if I liked it or not, but the more I look, the more I see that I do like. I like how the DOF is narrow, only having the butterfly and the few flowers right near him in focus. The colors are very pleasing. I can never get the things to sit still long enough! Well done.

Hi Steven,
Great macro shot!
Very nice colours and good details.
