|One last post of the painted Hills series untill my next visit to this magnificent place, and im hoping for better skys on that next visit too. Thanks to all, for your comments. Have a great weekend.|
The Painted Hills Unit contains 3,132 acres of scenic marvels unique even in the Pacific Northwest. Located 9 miles northwest of Mitchell, and 75 miles east of Bend, the Painted Hills are visited year-round. Outdoor exhibits and a picnic area are also available for visitors here. Most years, the peak of wildflower season in late April to early May is spectacular.
The yellows, golds, blacks, and reds of the Painted Hills are best seen in the late afternoon. Tones and hue may appear to change from one visit to another, as the claystones differ with ever-changing light and moisture levels. The shapes and colors of the hills are sublime.

Hi Tom !
A splendid capture with nice color.
Have a nice day,
amazing landscape, TFS Ori
Your series of these hills is awesome. Where exactly are they located in Oregon? I am visiting Oregon this summer and surely want to see something like this. I love the wonderful earth colors and I think that the overcast helped the mood in the photos even more.
Did you lighten the top part of the clouds? There is some noise in that part.

How beautiful these Painted Hills are ! Steven already wrote about it and I see that you also like this very special landscape. Something for a painter! Very well chosen point of view.
Thanks and best regards
