Three Bucks
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Driving back to the Red Hill that is located in the furthest southwestern reaches of the Painted Hills Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds I came across these three Pronghorn Antelope bucks. I normally see one buck and about 10 to 15 females, but this day only the three bucks. I walked about three miles into the hills and still found no evidence of the females, so it must have been close to birthing time for them. I did find a Green Rubber Boa snake, and a Coyote Pup along the way, both which made the trip well worthwhile.
The image was handheld and set at about F8 at 1/60th of a second and panned. |

Hi Steve
These three pronghorn blend in so nicely to their surroundings. Their colour is very similar to the hills behind them. Awesome colours and lighting.
