[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
These early Spring wildflowers did not seem to be bothered by our recent snow fall. There were many of them bloom
Olsynium douglasii (Sisyrinchium), common name: Grass Widow.
There were quite a few blooming in the Tom McCall Nature Reserve at Rowena Crest. |

The blooms look visibly stressed under snowy conditions. Still they hold on, insisting on heralding the onset of spring.
Nature's resilience fills me with a sense of wonder.
Great picture, Julie. TFS.

Hi Julie, what a lovely image here. The flowers look so good growing through the snow - hurrah, winter is ending for you!
TFS, Janice
I'm glad I looked at your photo before posting, you chose the exact same flower grouping as I did to post first. I'll have to wait a few days I guess :-) This grouping looks very well balanced to me and your new camera does a great job. Well done.
This is a nice shot of these beauties. I see we were both out and about yesterday due to our recent unusual heavy snowfall. We went snowshoeing in the Cascades and I had fun with my camera too! How do you like your new canon? I am still camera searching...it will probably be Canon but I am baffled by lenses. There are so many! Any advice?
Hi Julie,
I love this wonderful flowers, the colour is beautiful. I also had this theme today - hoping spring will come soon ;-)
Thanks for sharing
