A little bit different view of the flower my sister Julie posted a few days ago.
I wouldn't have known what it was called without her ident...

From the Lilly family: Fritillaria pudica
Yellow Fritillary

Forms 5-15 cm tall flowers on a single erect stem from a white bulb 2.5 cm below ground. Blooms April to May so this little guy is a bit early. Range is Sagebrush and ponderosa pine ecosystems, East of the Cascade, Okanogan County and south to Columbia River Gorge. This one was in the Columbia River Gorge.

Hi Lori
What a bright refreshing break in the dull winter colours. Very nice POV and composition. The DOF is good - at f/3 and 1/45 second shutter speed, you really did well. Please tell me your camera was on a tripod otherwise I would really start to doubt these old shaky hands of mine.
Very well done and TFS.
