[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This little guy is the offspring of the couple of Townsends that graced our feeders this past year. He has stayed the winter with us and what is the most interesting of his personality is that he loves to flutter at the Hummingbird feeder and drink the sweet water from it more than to eat the seed we have placed in the feeders. I had changed to food to a ndut-fruit blend, and now he is enjoying the best of both, sweet on sweet. A Sugar Freak He Is! Townsend Warblers are not commonly nesting birds in the city, they prefer the solace of the High Cascade Mountains here in the Pacific Northwest. This is my favorite of the assorted 23 varieties of birds we have visiting nearly each day, and then there is my Stellar Jay who screams at me for peanuts each and every morning. He has learned when the blinds are closed he has to wait, but look out if the peanuts are not out on the rim of the deck when the blinds are open...

Hello Steven,
This is one warbler that I have yet to see during the spring migration. Seems like you see a wide variety of neat looking birds just from your own porch...how cool is that!! I love it's unique markings and vivid colors. Reminds me somewhat of the Magnolia Warbler as far as color and markings.
