Yesterday, both the male and female Blackheaded Grosbeaks arrived back home from their annual migration. This spring it has been a good year as most of the birds we had visit the feeders have returned, plus a few more. All in all, we have 28 differing varieties of birds. Warms the heart...

Hello Steven,
I believe I need to plan my next birding vacation for your back yard, 28 varieties is awesome! A beautiful Blackheaded Grosbeak captured in a relaxed pose. Too bad a few leaves had to be in the way partially hiding part of it's wing, but in the wild we have to take what is presented to us. Nicely focused while showing a bit of catchlight in it's eye. Can't wait to see what stops by next.
