[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The Oregon Junco is commonly seen throughout the year in the Pacific Northwest. It is also a ground feeder, but has shown promise of feeding from our feeders the past year, at least a few have made touchdown without flying off in disgust. They are unafraid of humans and often are seen walking at your feet searching for food. |

Hello Steven,
I could immediately recognize this as a species of junco by the head color, pink bill, and overall body shape. I however never saw this particular junco before, the chestnut colored back and rusty sides are simply gorgeous. The BG is so pretty and match the plumage of the subject perfectly. Great eye contact!!
