This is the same Forster's Tern, only I took it before it dove in the water and got the fish.

The Forster's Tern, Sterna forsteri, is a member of the tern family Sternidae. It breeds inland in North America and winters south to the Caribbean and northern South America.
This species breeds in colonies in marshes. It nests in a ground scrape and lays three or more eggs. Like all white terns, it is fiercely defensive of its nest and young.
The Forster's Tern feeds by plunge-diving for fish, but will also search for insects in its breeding marshes. It usually feeds from saline environments in winter, like most Sterna terns.

I like this one! Perfect capture, and lots of great information, too!

Hi Lotti,

Welcome TN:) I think David is your father. Anyway, I like this very much. As is often the case with shots like this, the background is not ideal for separation, but it does show the behavior well. Very sharp, showing good detail, particularly the tern's pattern and colors. Good job, beautiful bird.
TFS and have a nice day!

Dear Lotti
I very much like the fact that you included so much sky and clouds. This is more than a picture of a bird - it is a picture that conveys a sense of space and depth. You also placed the bird well - not in the center but high so as to give a sense of being high in the sky. Overall an excellent composition. Keep up the good work.

Hallo Lotti
I admire your perseverance to better your photography at such a young age. Do not stop your dreams even if you fail once or twice or even three times.

This is a great shot of The Forester Tern in the air and against the lovely and clear blue sky. The display of its impressive wingspan is beautiful and shown well. I love the relaxed feel that surrounds it. The Tern's prominent red paws are well seen even from afar. A great shot. The colours are striking. Best regards and thanks for sharing.
