This is another photo taken at the Stevenson waterfront. This goose was drinking from the river at the time I took the photo, and had just pulled his head up. You can still see the water drop falling in the river below him.
This is a Canadian Goose, which used to be a rare thing to see here, but now they hang out all year, there are even two of them that like to hang out at the "Welcome to Stevenson" sign at the entrance to town. Very beautiful but very messy birds. At the local school across the river they've put up a wooden Dog cutout to try and discourage the geese from hanging out on their sports field. Some days it seems to work, and other days the geese seem to ignore it.
