|I found these goslings at the Pond near where I work, the mothers don't let you get too terribly close before they start moving the babies off away from you. I snapped this shot just as I walked up before the mothers went into full alert. |
There are almost I'd guess 50+ baby Canadian Geese here at this site, oddly only 5-6 mothers stand guard while the rest are either sleeping or eating. It's like a wildlife daycare, very interesting behavior to watch.
Today I took my small group of 4 kids on a walk the last part of class to see the baby geese. The kids were thrilled with what they saw, it was a fun day.
