Finally a sunny day and following a short but nice warming period..and on top of that an HUD apartment inspection, which was teh final straw. I left the house alone and went out to Turnbull Wildlife Refuge and trekked around the little snows that were left. This grove of Aspen were growing in ice..I shall post the ice image tomorrow..but this image attracted me much, as it shows well the Aspen bark and the small hint of line trees...and teh SUN! hooray for the sun.

Ah! I get you now with those beautiful trees, the superb light. Who else would post such a wild and fresh picture? I love the bark of those trees and the pine branches add the colour missing in the winter landscape. Thank you!

BobS-

Good to hear that you are out and about. So we are all now going to expect you to be posting lots of spring stuff, without that nasty snow that some of us have been stuck with for months. Chin up young man- spring is around the corner, as you show so well here.

BobH

Hi Bob,
Wonderful shot and I can see the ice patches from among the dense Aspen grove. The bright sunny lighting is well handled and you have captured the environs perfectly. I can smell the fresh air too. Lovely composition.
TFS.

Nice one Bob!
Your aspens have a much lighter-coloured bark than ours that makes them look like our birches.
I like the tightness of the trunks in the sidel ighting and they are nicely framed by the pine branches.
Thanks and have a good weekend,
Ivan

Hello Bob,
Sure am glad that Mr. Sunshine decided to show up for a change and give you a decent day outside. Beautiful shot of the Aspens framed by the pines so well. Great color scheme for this time of the year.
I actually thought I was looking at White Burch when I first brought up your image! I love the whitish color of the bark as it contrast with the green pine trees.
We have similar weather here in Ohio, but it was still pretty chilly out today.
Ron
