Taken at Turnbull Wildlife Refuge where the Cheney Trailhead meets the Columbia Plateau Rail Trail. I was out by myself and carried some heavy gear and a large tripod. A good walk for me but no cell service so I had to do it quickly. There is some apprehension when neither my nor that of my wife have good health and this is in a place which is not frequented much.

These are of Course a male and female mallard duck. they were my fathers favorite and mine as well. I have several wooden carving which my father did in his workshop. Dad was a computer specialist for many years with the Department of Defense, but had his long time hobbies since a child in the early 1900's...he was a true naturalist...and he could tell most any bird by its call..even the most rare..he was my guide and my Scout Leader as well as leader to the whole NorthEast Ohio Scouting program.

I think of my father today as I post these images..Dad would be 96 years old if he were alive today but he has been gone for over a decade. I still retain many of his photos and his widely written notes which he kept extensively...

So to Dad!

Hello Bob,
A wonderful tribute to your Dad. It sounds like he was quite a man, and handed down many of his attributes to his son.
You show two very beautiful mallards, I'm sure he would have loved this photo. TFS.

Hello Bob,
A very touching dedication to your dad. I'm sure he would have loved these natural pictures. Interesting to show them in two pictures, resting and walking. I like especially the upper composition with the tree-trunk at left giving depth to the picture. I'm so happy to have still my parents and in good health.
Amitiés
Anne

Hi Bob,very nice collage ,surely not a great scoop but a beautiful couple of perfect pic,a nice souvenir for daddy....he see you and this mallards from the paradise! My best compliments, have a nice day,Luciano.

Hi Bob,

The reflections in the water are assets to the composition. The point of view is allowing us to see the details and colors of the mallard ducks. The quality of the light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.
