*Also known as Purple Cone Flower
I have posted them a number of years ago..some with and some without bugs attached...but the thing I have tried to stress (*for me at least) is the medicinal power of this flower and all of it's parts including the roots which contain the most potent medicines...One can use it dried..I do in teas but not often. One can use it in pill format and I have found that not to work at all and the last but final...you can use it as an infusion...drinkable infusion.....it builds the immune system and has kept me from many a cold or flu...I am living witness to the power of this plant....

Echinacea has been used for medicinal purposes for hundreds of years, this plant commonly called purple coneflower is native to the eastern and central parts of

North America and actually can be found in various colors. Echinacea is a perennial, it produces large flowers that bloom from early spring until late in the summer.

Native American “medicine men” used Echinacea to cure many symptoms and ailments, the use of Echinacea has been found throughout at least 14 different tribes!

The Lakota tribes used it for rabies and snake bites. People from the Blackfoot tribes recognized it’s medicinal use for toothaches, while even other tribes used it to treat sore throats, colds, venereal diseases, small pox, chicken pox and eye infections among other things.

A gorgeous macro of this flower - love the pov. The vivid colors are so beautiful. The slight droop of the petals is wonderful. Details are nice and sharp. It is really striking against the green grassy background. An unusual but lovely composition.

Hello Bob,
Yes, this is indeed a lovely flower, good for humans and insects!! I had a beautiful one in the garden, then divided it in the spring and now it's having a real setback - silly me!! The pink and orange colours here are wonderful and I like your close view! When you have a cold coming on this seems to help really well!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla
