I wanted to present a view of Mono Lake, different from my previous two posts. This one faces east toward the high desert of the Great Basin. The previous posts faced westward toward the Sierra Nevada.
I have mixed feelings about this composition, so you guys can vote. : )
I like the wide angle and all the various elements including the bush and two sets of tufa towers, the curves of the shoreline, the last bit of snow at the water's edge, the reflections etc. etc. Maybe it is that the triangle formed by the bush and the tufa towers makes it feel static or something. I've tried cropping it different ways to no avail. Maybe I've just been looking at it too long. : )

Hola Evelynn. Valla que si esta es una hermosa "Vista" con una gran calidad en foto. Bellos colores y gran iluminacion. Unas aguas muy cristalinas.

Hi Evelynn,
A very nice shot and a great accompanying image to add to the series. I like all 3 but the previous post was probably my favorite as there is so much rich detail and the reflection is pure beauty. :)

Hi Evelynn,
Lord of the Rings would be proud, great composition in my opinion with crisp and colorful details, thanks for sharing.

Hi Evelynn,
no need for mixed feelings on this shot as it is just so very interesting as it is.The only thing that may be amiss is the light or white areas are a little intense almost over exposed. In this photo more so than the other two you would have made Dali proud as it is the more surreal looking of the three,I sure do like it.Mono Lake is a place when I get Stateside I need to check out so I can get the quality shots that you get.Thank you for letting me see and the rest of the world this most interesting place. Bob
Ps, the formation on the right hand side looks somewhat like the temple at Ankor Cambodia.

Superb, Evelynn. I love it.
I think the wide angle gives one a real sense of the surreal quality of a Mono landscape.
The crispness and the light are wonderful, and I think the composition is outstanding, for all the reasons you mentioned.
I am really enjoying this Mono Lake series.

Hi Evelyn

I think this composition is very strong - the triangle you mentioned holds the shot together and the other elements - thye cirrus clouds, scalloped shore etc work from/off the triangle.

Colours, DOF etc excellent.

Hi Evelynn.
really great low POV. An almost Martian landscape. Maybe this is what Mars would look like if they found water! :) Great composition. Well done.
Regards, Steve.

Hi Evelynn,
There is no single best answer to compositional issues. This is a nice study though. I would also try moving closer to the bush from a lower pov. What time of the day was this shot? Contrast is high. Did you use a polarizer? Well done putting the bush in the middle.
Best wishes,
Hakan

Hi Evelynn,

Hi Evelynn

Another splendid view over this unique and interesting Mono Lake!
The composition here is again fantastic and all the 3 sectors of the shot have something interesting in them. The FG presents the back with its vegetation, creating some very nice curves.
The horizon is again dominated by the interesting rock formations that you so nicely presented before, while, finally, the BG has those massive mountains to show for :)
The colors and all the tones here are once more outstanding and the exposure is simply spot-on!
The reflections from the water are another great plus!

Bravo and TFS
