[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I frequent this road, a primitive road though the Colville Indian Reservation, because it used to get me back to my cabin. And every day during the late winter I would see these ducks but whenever I got my rig stopped, they took off. So I was ready for them the time I took this picture. Already had the window rolled down and the camera preset for a fast shot. They sensed me anyway.....but not before I captured them in flight.

Hi Bob. I like this shot a lot and I can imagine that you were thrilled to finally capture the elusive mallards on camera. The frosted trees and the reflections in the water are beautiful. It is a bit of a pity that the birds are not so easy to see. If you have a zoom lens you might focus tighter on them and have fewer in the picture but larger. I suppose this would only be next winter. Still I really like the picture and I can feel that its jolly cold there. You must have a very picturesque way home. Regards, Irmgard.

One can feel the cold looking at this one.
Great shot!
I wish sometimes we could see the larger photos. There are details in this shot I'd like to look at more closely.

Thanks for a great photo!
